I'm impulsive. On Saturday, Andrew and I made the pallet bed I've had my eye on (visit Ashley Ann Photography for some real inspiration).
We got two pallets, put them together using bolts and hinges, and added 5 caster wheels to the base of the bed. I went to IKEA and bought a really inexpensive mattress. It needs a quilt and some throw pillows, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!

i have been meaning to make one of these, and i've finally started. the only problem im running into is getting a mattress, u said you found one at ikea, but it seems as though they are all to big for the size i cam out with in length? any advice ?
Amee- I'm pretty sure the 'mattress' we bought at Ikea was smaller than a twin. I think it's a stretch to call it a mattress--it's more like a thick pad you would take camping :) Good luck!!
